Apply to funding opportunities

How it works

JustFund is designed to simplify the grant application process and save you time. To get started, publish your JustFund Common Application™ profile — it's required to access any funding opportunity on JustFund. See Publish your JustFund Common Application™ profile.

Once your profile is published, browse open funding opportunities, review eligibility criteria, and apply. Before submitting, we recommend reviewing your profile to ensure everything is current — key profile information is preserved at the date/time of submission. Funders may also ask up to three additional questions and request up to three attachments. Only the funder you apply to can view your complete application.

Apply to funding opportunities

  1. Explore funding opportunities
      • Click Search in your navigation bar.
      • Click into an opportunity to review its background, eligibility criteria, and timeline.
  2. Start your application
      • If you meet all eligibility requirements, click Apply at the bottom of the page.
      • You will be prompted to review and confirm your profile information, and complete funder-specific application fields. Your responses to these fields are private to you and the funder you are applying to.
  3. Submit your application
    • Once you have completed your application, click Submit.

FAQs

  • Why can't I submit my application? Usually a required field is left blank. Review each section of your application and ensure all required fields are completed.
  • Who can see my application? Only you and the funder you apply to can view your complete application. However, your JustFund Common Application™ profile is discoverable to funders via JustFund Search.
  • Can I edit an application after applying? No, you cannot edit application content after applying. However, you can add additional attachments up until the deadline date of the funding opportunity by clicking Manage application in the Actions column.
  • Can I add a video to my application? Yes, host your video or audio on a third-party site like Vimeo or YouTube and include the link in the attachments section.
  • Can I delete or withdraw an application after I have applied? No, contact us if you have questions.
  • Can I apply to multiple funding opportunities? Yes, you can apply to as many eligible funding opportunities as you would like.
  • If I update my profile, will existing application content be overwritten? Applications preserve a record of key profile information at submission, including annual budget, mission statement, organization description, and team description. Other profile fields update in real time.

  • Review your profile before applying: make sure your information is current and accurately reflects your organization's work before you submit.
  • Use funder-specific fields to tailor your application: this is your opportunity to speak directly to that funder's priorities.
