What Search Filters Are Available and What Do They Mean?

The following are available filters to search: 

  • BIPOC-Led: Leadership is comprised of Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC).
  • Strategy: The approaches or solutions used to advance a mission.
  • Focus Area: The top issue(s) addressed.
  • Has funder: Previously received a grant by a JustFunder. 
  • Communities engaged: Specific groups of people served.
  • Fiscally sponsored: A project or initiative that relies on administrative and financial management by an existing 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
  • Fiscal sponsor: An entity that provides administrative and financial management for a project or initiative.
  • Tax status: Nonprofit classifications. Donations to 501(c)(3)s are tax-deductible, while donations to 501(c)(4)s or companies are not.
  • Tax ID: The unique identification number of an organization or company that is assigned by the Internal Revenue Service.
  • Scope: Primary geographic focus.
  • Based in: Office headquarters.
  • Engaged In: The states and territories where programs and activities take place.
  • Budget: The annual revenues and expenses.

Budget Minimum + Maximum: Organization budgets range substantially, from $0 and all volunteer-run community entities into millions of dollars. Donors interested in discovering certain-sized organizations can use this filter to surface relevant opportunities.
